Courtney Hope Britt

Courtney first got involved with College Republicans when she started the chapter at her community college. She remained involved after transferring and was appointed 4th Congressional District Representative for the College Republican Federation of Virginia. It was during this time that the National Chapter Box Program was temporarily suspended. Seeing the need, she raised money and created chapter boxes for chapters in Virginia so that they wouldn’t have to go without.

After completing her Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and French at Virginia Commonwealth University, Courtney went to law school at the University of Richmond and began serving as Virginia’s federation Second Vice Chairman before going on to become State Chairman. During her term as State Chairman, she expanded Virginia’s annual leadership retreat to include chapter leadership beyond chapter chairs so that more members could benefit from the experience. She executed three statewide deployments in key districts around the commonwealth, and she implemented new fundraising strategies including online giving and a recurring, small-dollar program.

In 2019, Courtney was elected Southern Regional Vice Chair of the College Republican National Committee and was reelected in 2020. In that position she has introduced a new approach to regional communication which includes a weekly newsletter, monthly calls, and an anonymous feedback form. Additionally, she provided digital resources and a training webinar to all chapter chairs in the south.

Beyond the south, Courtney has led national initiatives, too. Courtney helped start the Women Lead speaker series which highlighted prominent women like Senator Hyde-Smith, Representative Hartzler, and Allie Beth Stuckey. And, she led the CRNC’s efforts in the Georgia Runoffs recruiting about 200 College Republicans to temporarily relocate and work full time in Georgia, activating over 800 volunteers nationwide to make phone calls, and bringing in CRs from as far away as Alaska, Washington, and Vermont for a weekend deployment.
